From Kenya to Washington State, and across the African diaspora. Turning survival into healing and healing into power, for every woman who has been told to heal last.
ou have done everything right. You show up. You advocate. You ask questions. And you still leave every appointment feeling unheard, unseen, and no closer to answers.
Your labs come back normal. Your practitioner moves on. But you know something is wrong. You have always known. And no one is listening closely enough to find it.
You are navigating your health, your hormones, and your history between appointments that last twelve minutes and leave you with more questions than answers.
As a woman. As a caregiver. As someone who gives everything to everyone else. Your healing keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list. Again and again.
That is a system that was never designed to see you. And I built I Am IKOJN because you deserve so much better than that.
I am Dr. Bernadette Kimemia — a DNP, PhD, ARNP, FNP-C and the founder of I Am IKOJN. I left Kenya at seventeen with ambition as my only luggage, earned the highest clinical degrees my field has to offer, and built practices from the ground up. I have also survived what I now treat. That combination of clinical excellence and lived experience is what makes this work unlike anything else.
I offer five different ways to connect, depending on what you need right now:
Work directly with me in a coaching capacity—I guide you through health decisions, help you navigate your healthcare journey, and support your transformation into living fully. (This is health coaching and guidance, not medical treatment.)
I speak at conferences, corporate events, and retreats on healthcare transformation and living fully.
Join me as I interview transformative leaders and break down healthcare into human language.
Learn at your own pace through masterclasses, courses, and a supportive community of conscious healthcare consumers.
For organizations ready to integrate functional medicine and whole-person care into their practice or benefits.
